A Dose of Reality
Hi, I'm Casey. I am in High school, well, Early College. Right now school and life are pretty good for me, but it hasn't always been that way, but we will get more into that as my posts go on. As I learn and grow, I hear and see very ignorant statements/posts/etc, and in this blog we will explore my views on these topics. I hope you enjoy.

Dose #2: Topic of Disscussion: Unrealistc Views on Popularity
There are a lot of people who think that they need to be the most popular, best dressed, have the most friends, and be the best looking. And I just think that that is so stupid so many people wast their time on this that they don't stop to see who is really there for them. They are constantly thinking "What will others think?", when they really need to be thinking "What do I think?" I use to be so scared of doing things and basically living my life until I had a change of scenery with people who were more accepting and cared about me. I realized most of the people I went to school with didn't give a crap about me before, and there not going to anytime soon. Also the "popular" kids, that I use to want to a part, mean nothing because a soon as one of their "friends" turn around, they stab them in back. And what's funny is the characteristics that they describe that they hate are more times than not, their characteristics. As soon as you stop caring what others think and just be yourself, you will feel so much better and so much more free. Truthfully, the only ones you should care about what they say and think, are the people you care about. Like I said before: These people you want to be like don't give, they didn't give a crap about you before, and they're not gonna give a crap you. So why even want to be associated with them. If you cant be yourself around them, then you shouldn't care about them anyway.

Dose #1: Topic of Discussion: Facebook
I am going to sound very hypocritical in this post for the simple reason that I am addicted to Facebook and will not be deleting mine anytime soon. That being said, I still recognize that Facebook is nothing but pure evil. There are those people who post every unimportant, non fascinating, dull, aspect of their life. Then there are the people who use Facebook as their hate journal and to air their dirty laundry, or post dirty pictures, and then those who purposely post grammatically incorrect statuses: all of these things annoy me like none other. Not only is Facebook a purposeless, ineffective, worthless bundle of superfluous carelessness, it is a source of bullying that our antagonists in life use to abuse us from the comfort of their own home without even having to orally converse with us. So, I have, in my English teachers words "Shown and did not tell," so now I will tell, and as I pick apart theses customs of the notorious social networking site, I hope you consider my statement that Facebook, in all its shining glory, is inevitably evil.
First of all, Facebook is not the place to record everything you do in every hour of everyday. That's what they have journals/diaries for. Honestly, those people aren't lying when they comment and say "No one cares,"
in fact I applaud those people for informing you that we don't care that you are eating, driving, sitting, watching television, taking a crap, because we really don't. Recently, a person on my friend list decided to excessively post everything he did to show the annoyance of seeing these posts on your wall everyday, and in the end had people begging him to stop. Of course he went a bit extreme with this but, that was his intent and it got the point across. I only wish we had more "mutual friends," so that my friends could see the tediousness of these posts.
Another thing that I find stupid are those post saying: "Like for top 10 most beautiful/sexy women/men." The only ones more stupid then the ones posting this are the ones liking it. It is a desperate attempt for attention from both sides of the post. Honestly you don't need someone to tell you if your attractive or not and truthfully, who are they to judge your appearances. In the end tons of people are going to end up with their feeling hurt from not being selected.
And lastly, I hate those statuses where individuals who "tawk lyk dis." To make it short these people are lazy and ignorant and they deserve to be school for the rest of their grammatically incorrect lives. (Yes, I realize all my grammar might not be perfect, but at least I am trying.)
I hope you enjoyed my first post and did not get offended. But, if you did get offended....sorry. Actually, no, I'm not because they're my opinions and I'm entitled to them. This has been your first of many "Doses of Reality".
